Roadtrip To Leavenworth, Washington, USA
ROADTRIP TO LEAVENWORTH, WASHINGTON, USA
Pacific Northwest of USA is one of the most scenic places I have seen.
Who doesn’t love road trips? I love them!
Whenever I travel to a new location I make sure as a ritual, that after visiting the touristy places I explore the place like locals do. This way I make it, the best of both the worlds. I tie up with my local friends and family and ask their suggestions on where they visit when they get time. Then I persuade them to plan a trip together. We get to drive and reach nearby areas like this. Believe me, the real essence of the place is discovered by such road trip. I feel my trip is not complete unless I do road trips like locals.
Recently I visited Seattle which is the largest city in Pacific Northwest of America. Just when I was observing the beauty of this place we decided to go on a weekend road trip to a German town in the USA near Seattle. Europe is my all-time favorite destination, the idea of a German town in America was such a double bonus for me. As it’s not very far from Seattle, its approximately two hours drive. But the geography changes dramatically as we enter in beautiful snow-capped mountain areas during the road trip.
Map below explain how close is this place to Seattle
Leavenworth is a small city modeled on Bavarian Village. It was the month of October and hence I was going to see some scenic snow peaks while driving down to this beautiful town. It is a theme town. Since it’s based on German theme, it also hosts an Oktoberfest!
When we started from Seattle the views kept getting better and better. It was a highway to heaven for sure. I saw amazing snow peaks which I cannot forget followed by beautiful lakes and blue water streams on the way. Last I saw such beauty was during my visit to Switzerland. It is for sure that we experience the best when we travel.
“TRAVEL BRINGS POWER AND LOVE BACK TO LIFE – RUMI”
Going by this quote we made a group. We were six cousins and our cute niece (Reya). We decided to make it an unforgettable trip. Everyone gathered to plan a trip together, a cousin even flew from San Francisco and another one took a leave form busy schedule. We even named this trip as ZNMD Trip inspired from a Bollywood Movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” which is the Hindi version of famous saying YOLO You Only Live Once!
It was a nice reunion with travel. Once we all started for this road trip we all were catching up for real not only on social media. Because social media keeps us connected but traveling together is the real connection I bet!

As cousins, we used to meet frequently at our younger age in India during Diwali festivals. But, over the years, we all got busy in our own lives. But this time it was travel that brought us together from around the world and across the continents!

I enjoyed catching up with family and also spending time with all after years. We ended the day at the perfect club over live country music. If that is not enough one can also have wine tasting options there. We had our dinner at a restaurant serving live Mongolian Grill Food. Ah ! I was having best of both the world here.
DONT MISS THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Christmas decorations were already done and the place looked like stepping into a fairy-tale town.
Here are pictures I clicked while watching one of the best Christmas decorations I have ever witnessed.
As if this was not enough we saw in the night the option of Karaoke and here we decided to join the singing group. We decided to sing Bollywood Song in this German Town in the USA.
Such is the power of travel it does bring love and power back to your life.
Look at these pictures of town surrounded by snow peaks and it turns all white as winters set in in few weeks ahead.
Until I plan my next cousin trip (I don’t know when now) I recommend this place as a must visit for my fellow travelers.
So which is your favorite Christmas destination?
As shared on my blog before, don’t wait, plan a trip soon to the USA
